A brief description of your computing and networking environment (operating systems, networking software, modems, etc.), including the connectivity of your organization to the Internet and your country's connectivity to the international Internet* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We have what is called MPBN (Mobile Packet Backbone Network)implemented by ericsson on juniper routers . This is a wide area network that connects all regions in tanzania .We have 3 rings North East which spans Arusha,Dar,Dodoma,Tabora .another Mwanza, tabora,Biharamulo,Kigoma and the other Kigoma tabora, iringa and Mbeya. All these regions have media gateways that carry voice traffic on the IP backbone which is mainly microwave. All the traffic routing is done on mpls with full redundancy and load balancing. We have mpls vpns that work on bgp .All these routers have ospf point to point with the neighbor router. All are in area 0.OS used is junos 9.5 routers are m10i and switches are 3808. We also carry GPRS traffic over IP which we call Gb over IP in another 6 sites and also the aobe sites. All this traffic has to come to dar to connect to the SGSN and GGSN.THis is the internal network . We have an ISP network dedicated for ISP traffic from Kenya ,Uganda ,tanzania ,madagascar airtel of which we have 2 routers m10i juniper that has stm1 connections one to TATA and the other to Bharti. Our IP blocks are 196.46.120.0/22 and 41.75.208.0/20 AS 37133. We do BGP oearing with with the above mentioned countries and with our uplink ISP's We have a total of 36 routers and 42 switches . The knowledge i have currently is mainly on Cisco i am CCNP certified but such a training will open up my mind since the instructors are involved in protocol development and have above average knowledge in my area of expertise. How you expect to use the knowledge you gain at the workshop after you return to your country* ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Firstly i would use it to perform my work better and probably even recommend a redesign of the ISP network afresh. secondly i will have a better position to train my team members on how to manage the ISP Backbone network . If you have previously attended AfNOG or INET Workshops for Developing Countries Year and track you attended --------------------------- A precise description of how you have used the training you have received in the past ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The significant advances in networking which have occurred in your country specifically because of your knowledge and effort --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FINANCIAL INFORMATION ====================== Are you are requesting financial aid from the AfNOG Workshop for attending the workshop and meetings, or for travel costs?* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Requested aid to cover the attendance fees.
